I'm excited to inform you that we have just released the latest episode of our podcast. In this episode, we discuss the topic of training people how to treat you, which is a topic that's close to my heart. Although it's still a journey that I'm on, I have learned some incredibly helpful strategies that I'm eager to share with you.
1️⃣ Know Yourself: The first step is self-awareness. It's about understanding your likes, dislikes, values, and triggers. Think of it as a fish recognizing a hook in the water and choosing to swim around it.
2️⃣ Speak Up: Clear, assertive communication is key. It's about expressing your thoughts, feelings, and boundaries respectfully, without resorting to aggressive or passive-aggressive styles.
3️⃣ Set Expectations: Let people know how you want to be treated. For instance, I've set boundaries at work by informing colleagues about my need for focus and requesting not to be disturbed.
4️⃣ Lead by Example: Show people how you want to be treated. Cultivate a positive environment in your relationships and be open to feedback.
5️⃣ Choose Your Circle Wisely: Surround yourself with supportive individuals who uplift and encourage you. It's okay to let go of toxic relationships that drain your energy.
6️⃣ Patience and Consistency: These are your best friends in this journey. For example, I've set a rule to check emails only three times a day and not respond to emails sent after 3 pm until the next morning.
Remember, you have the power to set the tone for your relationships. It's a journey of self-improvement, and I encourage you to embrace it and live life to the fullest.
